Georgia Aquarium
This aquarium is home to hundreds of species and thousands of unique animals across more than 10 million gallons of fresh and saltwater exhibits. It previously held the record for the largest aquarium in the world until 2012 and still holds the third largest aquarium record globally. Some of the more notable inclusions at the aquarium are whale sharks, California sea lions and bottlenose dolphins. Having opened in 2005, it is one of Atlanta’s most popular tourist attractions.

World of Coca Cola
A museum dedicated to one of the world’s most recognizable brands, this 20-acre complex was relocated from its original location in 2007 and is nearby to the George Aquarium and Center for Civil and Human Rights. The museum includes exhibits about the Coca Cola Company, including overviews of its secret formula, a 4D movie theatre and tastings for more than 60 different products from around the world.

Atlanta Botanical Garden
Opened in 1976, the Atlanta Botanical Garden stretches 30 acres in Midtown Atlanta next to Piedmont Park. The park boasts a 600-foot-long skywalk (the Kendeda Canopy Walk) which showcases the last city’s last remaining urban forest. Various gardens stretch out across the park, including a Japanese and rose garden exhibit. There is a 16,000 square feet exhibit titled “Dorothy Chapman Fuqua Conservatory” which includes pants from tropical rainforests and deserts from around the world. The exhibit includes animals such as tropical bird, turtles and even poison dart frogs.

Six Flags Over Georgia
This 290 acre theme park is home to several attractions including roller coasters that are routinely voted as some of the best in the world, including ‘Goliath’ and ‘Mind Bender’. The park includes 12 roller coasters and 40 additional rides and other attractions. A unique attraction, the Riverview Carousel, is one of only three currently operating give-abreast carousels in the world.

Piedmont Park
This urban park is located only 1 mile from downtown Atlanta and conveniently between Midtown and the Virginia Highlands. The park covers 189 acres of land and includes various playgrounds, picnic areas, hiking trails and sporting pitches. The park is home to an array of special events throughout the year including various music festivals, the Atlanta Pride Festival and summer film series that see various classic films take center stage at outdoor theatres setup inside Piedmont Park.

Atlanta Zoo
Consistently voted one of America’s top 10 zoos, the Atlanta Zoo was founded in 1889 and is located in Grant Park, Atlanta. The zoo is home to many different habitats, each with their own exhibits and attractions. This includes exhibits focused on the African Rain Forest, African Savanna, a giant panda exhibit, Asian Forest, World of Reptiles and a children’s zoo featuring animals from the Australian Outback. The zoo has more than 1,500 animals across 220 species.
