Visitors to Toronto will find it is a very traversable city. Casa Loma

This Gothic Revival style mansion and garden is located in midtown Toronto and offers a museum on site. Built in 1911, the unique style of the building has made it a popular location for filming of movies and television series including such works as Titans, X-Men and the live action version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The mansion includes various rooms throughout, all of which have been restored The famous Oak Room features a 3 meter-high Louis XVI style carved light standard with 24 bulbs The Conservatory includes a fountain, while the Round Room is most notable for its doors and window stylings.

Art Gallery of Ontario

Located in the Grange Park district of downtown Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario comprises of more than 45,000 square meters of exhibit space. It is one of the largest art museums in all of North America and the second largest museum in Toronto. In addition to art exhibits, the museum also contains artist-in-residences offices and a studio, event spaces, a theatre, workshop and more. More than 98,000 individual works of art are located at the museum, covering the first century to present day. Works from across Canada, Inuit, African, European and Oceanic artists are on display, as well as traveling exhibits which are routinely changed out.

Toronto Zoo

Covering 287 hectares of space, the zoo is the largest in Canada and divided into seven different regional exhibits. Containing more than 5,000 animals, the zoo also includes various locations such as a Kids Zoo, Waterside Theatre and Splash Island. It offers more than 500 animals species and is considered one of the most diverse zoos in the world. Open to the public every day of the year except December 25th, the Toronto Zoo opened its doors in 1974. It participates in a wide array of conservations efforts, including being listed as the first zoo to establish a captive breeding program for black-footed ferrets.

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada

One of only three aquariums owned by Ripley Entertainment and located in downtown Toronto, the aquarium features 1.25 million gallons of aquatic habitats from around the world and includes more than 20,000 specimens from across 450 species. Built in 2013, Ripley’s Aquarium is divided amongst ten unique galleries covering everything from Canada’s waters, coral reefs, jellyfish, stingray habitats and more. The aquarium is considered one of the top family attractions in Toronto.

St. Lawrence Market

This year-round indoor farmer’s market is located at the southwest corner of Front and Lower Jarvis Streets. Opened in 1902, the building was restored in the 1970s and comprises of the St. Lawrence Market North, St. Lawrence Hall and St. Lawrence Market. The market consist of two floors, with the upper floor being used as the primary market space. More than 50 vendors are available daily selling fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses. Each Sunday sees the addition of an antiques market located inside of the North Market.

Habourfront Centre

This waterfront venue is considered a key cultural organization in Toronto.
